Seen from above the intersections are the linear design element of the painting. Through dissection of the image into four parts the roads become further abstracted. Reduced to graphic shapes, details are contrasted by the strong use of color.

The N.A.W.A. Summer Small Works Exhibition reception is on Thursday, July 16th, 5-7pm. I can't be there but maybe you can see the show. It runs July 8 - 29, the gallery is open Tuesday thru Friday 10 – 5. The N.A.W.A. Gallery is located at 80 Fifth Ave., Suite 1405, NYC.

Cattle Ranch is a bird's eye view which changes the traditional landscape perspective. The flattening of the picture plane reduces the details and the shadows hint at a time of day.

Young Gladys received a Special Recognition Award in the Figurative exhibition from Light Space & Time Gallery.

My figurative paintings, many based on family photographs, offer a stylized impression of the subjects. This is my mother when she was a young girl. It evokes a soft-focused stylized impression of the period and her. Tastes and fashions may change, but the most basic of human needs, desires, and dreams are timeless and universal.
