Attention artists! Having trouble getting your work out there? Then this marketing workshop is just for you.
Xico, Arte y Cultura, a nonprofit organization and gallery in downtown Phoenix, is joining with artist and gallery curator Justin Germain to host a three-part seminar to teach local artists how best to market themselves and their work.
Working for several Valley art galleries after graduating with a master’s degree in art history from Arizona State University, Germain witnessed a notable lack of understanding among new artists about how to publicize and promote their art work.
“So many artists would simply send me a link to their work, or sometimes to a poorly designed website or Facebook page, and somehow expect me or someone else to ‘discover’ them,” Germain said in a press release.
The series will focus on teaching business acumen and marketing strategy.
The workshops are scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. July 24, 31 and Aug. 7 at the Xico Galeria, 1008 E. Buckeye Road, Suite 220, Phoenix. Cost is $50 for the full series or $20 per class. The classes will build off of each other so people are encouraged to attend all classes. For more details and to sign up, call Xico at 480-833-5875 or email at info@xicoinc.com.
