The Bike That Looks Like Art

Lunar, one of the world’s leading industrial design firms, created the concept bike you see right of screen. Incredibly it is an exercise bike, one that could fit into any room of your home and look like a piece of sculpture, as long as your taste is modern.

LUNAR’s president, John Edson, and new managing director, Mark Dziersk, are in New York April 26th – 27th to introduce new concepts like the Vela exercise bike. Having had a small preview I would encourage you to watch out for more in the press as Lunar show off not jut the bike but also a range of new lighting concepts. Edson’s new book, Design Like Apple, is due for publication in July.

Matthis Hamann, one of LUNAR Europe’s two managing partners, explains the Vela concept as:

“….a highly functional fitness equipment which, besides its sporting uses, will adorn any living room in the same way as an aesthetic sculpture. The objects thus combine ‘life’ and ‘style’ in the best possible sense.”
