LexArts and other area organizations announce several new Calls to Artists

Lexington artists on the lookout for new opportunities have a variety of projects to apply for thanks to area organizations LexArts, St. Joe East, Art Connects, and NeoSho Arts Council. Artists are being sought to apply for projects, competitions, and art purchases, including a public art and sculpture beautification project for the Breeders’ Cup, happening this October at Keeneland.
Breeders’ Cup Beautification Public Art RFP
LexArts, partnering with Lexington Fayette Urban County Government (LFUCG) Corridors Commission is requesting proposals for a series of temporary outdoor artworks for four specific locations along a designated pathway into Lexington from 1-75 to Keeneland/Blue Grass Airport. Application deadline is July 5.
Breeders’ Cup Beautification Call for Sculpture
LexArts, partnering with Lexington Fayette Urban County Government (LFUCG) Corridors Commission is requesting proposals for a series of temporary outdoor sculptures. Application deadline is July 5.
St. Joseph East Artwork Purchase
Saint Joseph Hospital East is looking for original works from Kentucky artists to purchase for display. Application deadline is June 30.
Art Connects – Paint the Town
The fourth annual Lexington-based outdoors painting extravaganza formerly known as “Lexingotn Cityscapes” takes place June 27. Artwork entered in the event will be exhibited at Arts Place, and available for sale through Gallery Hop on July 17.
NeoSho Arts Council – Hermann Jaeger Juried Fine Art Competition
A regional art competition open to artists 18 years of age or older, amateur and professional. Deadline for entry is July 20.
