This one is particularly powerful for me today. I don't know why. It
ReplyDeletetouches on a field of memories from childhood in rural America. I've had
pickup trucks - usually red - for over thirty years. They link me to something
whole and a world of being out-of-doors and the work that invites the body
to engage in something more active that typing on a computer or reading. I
done drive my pickup; I wear it.
The windmill connects me everything that water provide for all living
things. The colours distress simply because they remind me of a fire that
destroys what we built in rural places. When there's a fire in the country,
especially at this time of harvest gathered in, there is simply nothing one
can do about it. The fire brigade is of little or no assistance.
